The textures selected for Doku Ankara represent historical and semantic layers belonging to different periods of Ankara. Each one is chosen from a detail concentrated in stone, wood, motif, fabric, or a symbol, making visible the spatial understanding, aesthetic language, and culture of life of the period to which it belongs.

These textures make it possible to read Ankara’s past not in a chronological order, but as layers articulated one upon another. When brought together, they create a holistic memory space that invites us to think about the city’s long-term history together with its continuities and transformations.
